EventNook allows you to assign attendee categories based on ticket types, which is especially helpful for printing badges with accurate role identifiers like DELEGATE, SPEAKER, MEDIA, EXHIBITOR, SPONSOR, and more.

Why Use Attendee Categories?

In many events, the name of the ticket purchased doesn't always match the attendee’s role at the event. For instance, at a conference, there might be multiple types of delegate tickets, such as:

• Day 1 Pass

• 3-Day Pass

• Pre-Sales Early Bird Pass

While these tickets represent different purchasing options, all ticket holders fall under the DELEGATE category. Printing the ticket name (e.g., “Day 1 Pass”) on badges may not provide the clarity needed for role identification. This is where attendee categories come in handy. You can map ticket types to a category for clearer badge information, like DELEGATE instead of the ticket name.

How to Set Up Attendee Categories in EventNook

At this time, the attendee category mapping feature is available through the EventNook support team. To get this configured, follow these steps:

1. Prepare an Excel file that contains the ticket type and its corresponding attendee category. For example:

   Ticket Type	Attendee Category
   Day 1 Pass	DELEGATE
   3-Day Pass	DELEGATE
   Pre-Sales Early Bird Pass	DELEGATE
   Speaker Pass	SPEAKER
   Media Registration	MEDIA
   Exhibitor Access Pass	EXHIBITOR

2. Send the Excel file to the EventNook support team with a request for attendee category mapping.

3. The EventNook team will update the settings in your event platform, and you’ll be able to use the mapped attendee categories for purposes like badge printing and role identification.

Example Use Case

For a large conference, you might sell various ticket types to delegates, but when it comes to badge printing, you only want to see "DELEGATE" on their badges. This setup simplifies role identification and streamlines event check-ins. Similarly, if you have separate tickets for Speakers, Exhibitors, and Media, assigning clear attendee categories ensures smooth management and professional-looking badges.
