How to Set up Invoice and Receipt Template
How to Manage Receipts and Tax Invoices in EventNook
If you are selling tickets for your event through EventNook, you are required to issue receipts and tax invoices to your buyers. EventNook simplifies this process by providing auto-generated receipts and invoices for ticket sales. These are automatically sent to your buyers upon registration.
Invoice vs. Receipt: What's the Difference?
Invoice: An invoice is issued when the payment is not made immediately. This is typically used for offline payment methods such as bank transfer, cheque, or cash. Once the payment is confirmed, the receipt will be issued.
Receipt: A receipt is generated upon confirmation of payment. For online payments (e.g., credit card via Stripe or PayPal), the buyer will receive the receipt immediately after the successful transaction.
Tax Invoice: If your event requires collecting tax (such as GST or VAT), a tax invoice will be issued to comply with tax regulations.
Customizing Receipt and Invoice Templates
EventNook allows you to customize your receipt and invoice templates with the following details to match your organization’s branding and requirements:
Logo: Add your organization's logo to give your receipts and invoices a professional look.
Custom Title: You can modify the title (e.g., "PROFORMA INVOICE") as per your needs.
Organization Name: Display the name of your organization on the document.
Organization Registration Number or UEN: Include your unique entity number (UEN) or business registration number.
Organization Tax Registration Number: If applicable, include your tax registration number.
Organization Contact Details: Add any contact information or notes as free text.
Invoice Payment Terms: Define your terms for payment if the invoice is issued (e.g., payment due within 30 days).
Invoice Number Prefix: You can customize the numbering system with a prefix like "INV-" for easier tracking.
Invoice Terms & Conditions: Include any terms and conditions that apply to your invoice.
How It Works:
Online Payment: If the buyer makes an online payment (e.g., via Stripe or PayPal), a receipt is issued and sent immediately upon successful transaction.
Offline Payment: For offline payment methods like bank transfer, an invoice is issued. Once the payment is confirmed, a receipt will be generated and sent to the buyer.
Tax Invoices: If your event involves collecting taxes, the receipt will also serve as a tax invoice, including any applicable tax details (e.g., GST or VAT).
By leveraging EventNook's auto-generated receipts and invoices, you ensure that your ticket buyers receive professional and accurate documentation of their purchases. Plus, with customizable features, you can maintain a consistent brand presence across all financial documents.
