Tax (GST / VAT)
How to Apply Tax to Ticket Sales in EventNook
If your event requires tax collection for ticket sales (e.g., GST or VAT), EventNook allows you to easily apply tax to specific ticket types. This feature is particularly useful if certain tickets are exempt from tax, such as tickets purchased by overseas attendees for an online event.
Important Note on Tax Compliance:
Please ensure that when you apply tax to your event's ticket sales, you comply with all relevant local tax regulations. EventNook provides the tools to manage tax settings but will not be responsible for any taxation issues arising from your ticket sales. It is your responsibility to ensure proper tax collection and reporting.

Steps to Apply Tax to Your Ticket Sales:
Enable Tax Collection
Go to the Tax Settings in your event setting
Toggle the Enable Tax Collection option to ON.
Select Tax Type
Choose the applicable tax type for your event, such as GST or VAT, depending on your country’s tax regulations.
Set the Tax Rate
Enter the tax rate as a percentage (e.g., 9% for GST). This will automatically calculate the tax for the selected ticket types.
Enter Your Tax Registration Number
Input your Tax Registration Number (if applicable) to ensure compliance with tax regulations. This number will be displayed on the tax invoice.
Choose Tax Calculation Method You can choose how the tax is applied to your ticket pricing:
Inclusive: The ticket price already includes tax charges (e.g., if the ticket costs $100, it will include the tax within that price).
Exclusive: Tax is added on top of the ticket price (e.g., a $100 ticket plus 9% tax will cost $109).
Select Eligible Tickets
Choose which ticket types the tax should apply to. Some tickets may not require tax collection, such as those purchased by overseas attendees or for certain event types. You can select the eligible ticket types accordingly.
Example Scenario:
For an online event where local attendees are charged tax but international attendees are not, you can:
Apply a 9% GST to domestic tickets only.
Leave international tickets tax-exempt, ensuring that overseas buyers are not charged the local tax.
