Private URL

How to Use EventNook's Private URL Feature for Specific Ticket Types

EventNook’s Private URL feature allows you to make specific ticket types accessible only to selected audiences while keeping them hidden from the public default ticket selection page. This is ideal when you want exclusive groups—such as Speakers, Media, Sponsors, or Event Crew—to register privately without displaying those ticket types to the general public.

The Private URL acts as a hidden link that reveals only the designated ticket types when accessed, enabling you to manage private invitations seamlessly and securely.

Why Use Private URLs?

Here are a few scenarios where Private URLs can be beneficial:

  • Targeted registration: Allow special groups to register privately without exposing their ticket types to the public.

  • Prevent public access: Ensure that specific ticket types, such as free or discounted passes, are reserved only for designated groups like event staff, media, or sponsors.

  • Create multiple registration paths: In some cases, you may want to offer different links for certain ticket types, even if they don’t need to be completely hidden.

How to Set Up a Private URL

To create a private URL for specific ticket types, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your EventNook account and go to your event management page.

  2. Navigate to Site URL > Private URL tab.

  3. Set up a unique private link for the ticket type(s) you want to keep private.

  4. Save your changes.

Now, only individuals with the private link will be able to access and register for the hidden ticket types.

Making Private Tickets Visible Publicly (Optional)

In some cases, you may want to publish ticket types under both a Private URL and on the public registration page simultaneously. EventNook offers a toggle option called "Visible in Default Widget", which allows you to control this:

  • Enabled: The ticket will appear both on the public registration page and via the private URL.

  • Disabled: The ticket will only be accessible through the private link and hidden from the public.

This flexibility is useful when you want to offer certain ticket types to the general public while also providing a unique registration link for special groups.

Final Tips

  • Custom Links: Even if you don’t need a ticket type to remain private, you can still create different unique links for certain groups or promotional purposes.

  • Review Ticket Visibility: Ensure you’ve correctly set the visibility (private vs. public) for each ticket type based on your audience and event goals.
