Discount code with Start and End Date
How to Control Discount Code Period with Start and End Dates in EventNook
EventNook provides the option to control the discount period for any discount code using start and end dates. This feature is especially helpful for running limited-time promotions, such as a Year-End Sale or special offers that apply only for a specific time frame (e.g., 1st Dec to 31st Dec).
By setting these dates, you can automate the activation and expiration of the discount, ensuring it’s only valid during your chosen promotional period.
How to Set the Discount Period
You can configure the start and/or end date of your discount code through the advanced settings. Here’s how to do it:
Step 1: Access Discount Code Settings
Log in to your EventNook Admin.
Go to your event and navigate to the Manage > Discount Code section.
Select or create the discount code you want to configure.

Step 2: Set the Start and End Dates
In the discount code's advanced settings, you’ll see options for controlling the discount period:
Start Date: This is the date when the discount code will become active.
End Date (Expiry Date): This is the date when the discount code will expire.
You can set both the start and end dates or either one, depending on your promotional needs:
Set Both Start and End Dates: For a promotion that runs between specific dates (e.g., a Year-End Sale from 1st Dec to 31st Dec), set both dates.
Set Only the Start Date: If you want the discount to begin at a specific time but run indefinitely until you manually deactivate it, set only the start date.
Set Only the End Date: If you want the discount to expire at a certain time but be active immediately, just set the end date.
Example: Year-End Promotion
For example, if you are running a Year-End Promotion from 1st Dec to 31st Dec, you would set:
Start Date: 1st December
End Date: 31st December
The discount code will only be valid during this time, and it will automatically expire after the promotion period ends.
Why Use Start and End Dates?
Automated Control: No need to manually activate or deactivate the code. The system automatically handles it.
Timed Promotions: Perfect for limited-time offers, holiday promotions, or early-bird discounts.
Flexibility: You can set both dates, only one, or leave it open-ended depending on your marketing strategy.
Setting the Discount Period in Advanced Settings
You can find these settings under the Advanced Settings section of the Discount Code management page, as shown in the image below. This makes it easy to configure your promotion and control when the discount is available.
By using the start and end date options for discount codes, you can manage promotions with ease, ensuring that your offers run exactly when you want them to.
